Bangalore Cares was set up to strengthen civil society initiatives predominantly within the state of Karnataka. This requires making known the important services provided by the voluntary sector and assisting organizations to raise resources. Bangalore Cares serves as a bridge between the voluntary sector and the rest of society.

Bangalore Cares activities are centered around this purpose, and include

• Publishing directories, including the Directory of Voluntary Organisations in Karnataka (Ed.2000, 2010)
• Partnering events like the Sunfeast World 10K Bangalore (2008, 2009, 2010)
• Showcasing products /services of voluntary organisations through events like Sneha Sante 2009
• Organising meetings of the voluntary sector bringing together organisations, citizens, companies and the government (Seva Sethu 2000)
• Promoting the work of the voluntary sector through different forms of media
• Providing advisory services, promoting transparency and accountability of voluntary organisations
• Supporting various activities on request with our extensive database of voluntary organisations
